Asheville Yoga Center: Stephanie Keach

by Stephanie Keach, Owner of Asheville Yoga Center

How did you begin yoga?

I broke my back at T-12, and healed it through yoga, meditation, deep breathing and visualization, all of which at first I was just making up (drawing from a past life memory?)  Then I got Light on Yoga and was hooked.

What is your inspiration behind starting the studio, if any, i.e. the  mantra/Bhagavad Gita/special story from your own life?

It just sort of flowed… I was teaching all around town, and it landed in my lap, to take over a gym, and voila, with zero business experience, it birthed itself.  Many angels have appeared along the way to help me with business aspects.

What do you enjoy most about being a yoga studio owner/teacher?

Spreading the love, beyond all borders and boundaries.  I recommend to ALL my teacher training graduates to open a studio!!

Stephanie Keach has been a huge influence to my own personal life.  When I took my teacher training, she personally sent me her wonderful book “The Yoga Handbook” and we have remained in touch.

Stephanie is the type of yogi we all aspire to be: good, gracious, humble, and intelligent beyond her years.

Where ever she is she adds warmth and glow to the whole environment.
